I just read an article about the Pope addressing victims of abuse by priests in au. or world wide i guess?

ok im not catholic but i was wondering why priests arent allowed to marry. im methodist and my minister is married with children. he is able to be an awesome minister, husband and father. dont catholics believe priest are also capable as well? would it be naive of me to think that ual abuse by priest would drop if they were allowed to marry. we are all ual beings. its un natural to deny uality. doesnt priests have ual desires? and why are priests most likely to be pedofiles. they didnt just wake up one day and decide they like kids. do pedofiles join the priesthood in an attempt to seek strength from GOD so as to not abuse kids?
