What free video software is best for making youtube videos?

I made a youtube account with a couple of my friends and I hope to be posting some videos on there. I don't plan on being a serious vloger, so I don't want to spend a boatload of money on a fancy-pants video editing software, but I was wondering which softwares are free and efficient ? Thanks!
